Tocororo Cubano Is Authorized to Declare: Cuba in an Undeclared War
por Henrik Hernandezpublicado en
Tocororo Cubano raises the alarm over the pre-war state created by the United States' hostile policy and calls for moral, informational, and popular resistance.
Cuba Is Living a War Without Bombs—But Not Without Victims
The aggression against Cuba is not a future threat: it is an active, daily, and devastating reality. There are no missiles or tanks in our streets, but there is a machinery of economic suffocation, diplomatic sabotage, media manipulation, and migratory destabilization that seeks the same outcome as any invasion: the collapse of a sovereign political system.
Today, we live under an undeclared state of war. A war invisible to some, but evident in every missing medicine, every blocked financial transaction, every repeated lie about our reality, and every young person driven into exile by induced despair.
From Hybrid War to the Threshold of Military Aggression
The siege imposed by the United States is neither accidental nor recent. It has been refined for over six decades but has now crossed new boundaries. Cuba's inclusion on the infamous list of "State Sponsors of Terrorism," the sabotage of our medical missions, the extraterritorial persecution of companies that trade with the island, and the open interference in our internal affairs are signs of dangerous escalation.
We are already in a pre-war state. All that’s missing is a fabricated pretext or a deliberately provoked spark for the U.S. military might to do what it has done in so many other nations: invade under the banner of “freedom,” leaving behind only ruins and plunder.
The Real Objective: Destroying the Example of Sovereignty
Why so much hatred against a small and peaceful island? Because Cuba represents the uncomfortable example that another world is possible. Because we remain alive in spite of the siege. Because we refuse the chains others have normalized.
What the U.S. cannot forgive is that we have shown it is possible to resist, to build dignity, health, and culture without submitting to capital or empire.
A Call to the Peoples, to Dignified Cubans, and to the Conscience of the World
From Tocororo Cubano, we issue this call:
To the peoples of the Global South: Do not remain silent. The war against Cuba is a warning to all who aspire to be free.
To the peoples of Latin America: Cuba is part of the soul of Nuestra América. If we fall, the dreams of Bolívar, Martí, Sandino, and Chávez fall with us. Defending Cuba means defending continental sovereignty.
Activate solidarity networks, multiply the truth, mobilize memory.
To the European Union: Your passive complicity in this aggression stains Europe's history. You, who suffered fascism, must not support a siege that seeks to break a people through hunger and blockade. Demand an end to financial harassment and withdraw your alignment with illegal unilateral policies.
To Cubans abroad: Do not collaborate with infamy. One does not abandon the homeland—much less betray it.
To the youth: Inform yourselves, study, struggle. Ignorance is the enemy’s preferred battlefield.
To Cuban institutions: Strengthen the bond with the people, listen, correct, build trust. Unity is not imposed—it is earned.
The Time Is Now
Let us not wait for an international alarm to sound. The war has already begun—even if they refuse to call it by its name. And in the face of this reality, every word, every act of conscience, every article, every truth spoken counts as a trench.
Cuba is not alone—but it cannot afford to wait. What is at stake today is not only our destiny, but the destiny of all who still believe in justice, sovereignty, and dignity.
Glossary:
Undeclared state of war: A condition in which systematic aggression (economic, diplomatic, media-related, etc.) is exercised without launching a conventional military conflict.
Pre-war state: A phase just before the outbreak of open war, where tensions, provocations, and strategic conditions accumulate.
Hybrid war: A multi-pronged strategy of aggression including economic, media, cyber, legal, cultural, and psychological sabotage.
Cuban Adjustment Act: U.S. legislation that gives special privileges to Cuban migrants, incentivizing mass exodus as a political weapon.
State Sponsors of Terrorism list: An arbitrary U.S. classification used to sanction sovereign nations; in Cuba’s case, it lacks legal or moral foundation.
