Introduction

Following my article "March of the Combatant People: A Message of Unity and Sovereignty Against the U.S. and the Anti-Cuban Mafia," some individuals have directed criticism at me and at those in Cuba who marched against the U.S. blockade and the unjust inclusion of our nation on the illegal list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.

My response

To those criticisms, I respond: my position to objectively reflect what is happening in Cuba is legitimate and based on universal principles, such as the international right to self-determination of peoples. The Cuban people have the right and moral obligation to defend their sovereignty against external aggression, including the economic war perpetuated by the United States against our country. I do not write to please any small group of any kind. I am Patria o Muerte—the only way to truly be Cuban. I will never use my intellect or strength to attack Cuba or support anti-Cuban policies.

Claiming that those who participated in the march were forced is a fallacy that does not hold up to scrutiny. Cuba's enemies must understand that its people are fully aware of their rights and the need to raise their voices against injustices like the blockade and the absurd inclusion of our country on that arbitrary list, which only seeks to perpetuate the suffering of our nation.

Those who want this people to stop supporting the Cuban government have only one solution:

  • Remove Cuba from the list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.
  • Lift the blockade that suffocates our nation.

But they won’t, because they know that by doing so, they will be defeated. The defeated have neither the support nor the respect of dignified peoples. Instead, they prefer to maintain this economic and media war against Cuba, even if it means violating the human rights of an entire nation.

This is not the time for surrender or annexationism. It is the time to be patriots, to act rationally and within the framework of international law, not with passions that only lead to extremism. The Cuban people have the right to protest the economic blockade, the policies of harassment, and to assert their legitimate right to build their own future, free from interference and external pressure.

It is true that most of those who marched support the Cuban government. What does this mean? That this government represents the interests of a people who do not bow down, who understand clearly who the true aggressor is. What do they expect in Miami or among the "little Miamis" born in Europe? That the Cuban people will support those who promote genocidal policies against themselves? Absolutely not. That march was a declaration of principles, a clear expression of a dignified people who will not renounce their sovereignty or accept interference.

Conclusion

Cuba does not need extremism or submission. It needs firmness, rationality, and unity in defending its dignity and future. That is the true essence of the march and of the Cuban people. As for me, I will always stand with my people, never against them.
